Yeah, there's nothing more comfortable than having a few spikes pierce your ass as you ride your way to your destination:
Very comfortable indeed.

Anyway, I'd want a Saltspray Dragon or a Snow Beast, which Summit Beastmasters ride.

While mounts would be cool, and the obvious responce is anything that is big enough to ride ingame.
It seems a null discussion, because we can teleport from location to location. We dont need mounts to move vast distances. Plus we have running skills to move very fast if you are finding the next area.

I think the Yaks would be fairly kool to be able to mount but i think a creature liek glint would be the best Bacause Glint well....rules We may have skills and able to teleport but I think it would be cool to be a ranger and shoot off the back of a creature.

It has doors. What more could you ask for in a pre-industrialized setting?
Further possibilites include:
1. Old Mother Hubbard.
2. Mesmers. (Considered a "mount" class in GW2.)
3. A sword. With wheels. Glued to the hilt.
4. An indentured servant.
5. A giant boot.
6. A horse with three legs.

Every race in GW2 should have several different mounts, which only those can ride.
Example:
Humans would get: Horses, Grand Moas *new* and Griffons, special exception for Dragoon Class > dragons (which look like Angelus/Legna of the Drakengard games/ PS2)
Charr would get: great Warthogs (L.o.Zelda TP), Huge Lizards (Basilisks) and Sabertooth Tigers, and last but not least, they ride mammoths, really those big brown hairy elephants with their long ivory horns
Asura would get: ninetails (nine tailed foxes), huge spiders like those on Screenshot, Garudas (huge kind of an Eagle) and something else I'm not creative enough for yet XD
Norns would get: the possibility to simple transform themself into following forms:
Were Bear, Snow Owl, Lynx and a kind of a Kirin
Sylvari would get: the ability to learn how to fly with own fairylike Wings, or ride on great wolfes, a kind of a living plant creature or ride horses to, dunno XD ...
but that r such things, i think of mounts for those races, which would fit them well

We have running skills in GW1, but who is to say we will in GW2?
Remember, this is a discussion about GW2

Well im praying that GW2 isnt gong to be a completely open world, because if it is, it will cost a monthly fee. Something I dont want or can pay.
If they keep the instant teleporting feature, I dont see why we need mounts unless instances are HUGE!
If the mounting things does go off, then they will need a wide veriaty of animals to use and NOT copy any WoWness. It would have to be original and maintain that simplistic Anet approach.
Mouting in other games such as WoW relys on favour and training and ALOT of gold. If we were to have mounts, it has to be a simple case of buying one and then using it.
Maybe have it cost 15k (or what ever max armor will cost in GW2), but not stupidly expensive. I love GWs because its simple to play and not overly complex.

Well, GW2 will have both perpetual play and instances for missions, AFAIK. It won't have a monthly fee, just a one time fee for the game and any expansions that might be brought out. Map travel will also still be in the game. ^^

GW2 is not suposed to cost monthly as said in the PC gamer asura edition but eveyone knows if that happend there would be soooo many people crying over how they copied from WoW sue it may be the same concept but i know WoW wasnt the 1st game to have creatures to ride and the whole "mounting" would be awsoem but just would add more to GW and make the requirements of the game probably higher and personally GW beat WoW hands down one because its free and well two it is just better. But anyway back on topic mounts would be kool but gaurentee they will not be in GW2 because of the people that will dry and complain and try to compare the two seperate games. But it doesn't hurt to talk bout it.

Wow, that's like, so brilliant! You should be working for ANet and help them make the lamest/generic/unoriginal game ever.

Any kind of Dragon would be an awsome mount. It would be great if it could fly high above the terrain. But even if it can't it would still be very cool.
